New gene therapy and stem cell research center was established at DEOEC. It cost nearly 800 million HUF.
The objective was to create an infrastructure that enables the therapeutic and clinical application of stem cell research. The project helps primarily those suffering from immune and metabolic problems but it means progress even in treating diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease."This project provides opportunity for stem cell researches for 8 work groups. These researches primarily serve basic researches but potentially they will have clinical applications in the future."-Dr. Istvan Szatmary said.
