The “Kézm?ves Magyar Ízek” taster tour visited Debrecen. They were searching for Hungary’s favourite tastes.
Among others, visitors could vote for silk-grass honey, Parmesan cheese with truffles and Hungarian grey cattle salami on the 6 November, in Forum. The final results will be announced at the “2. Kézm?ves Magyar Ízek Vására” (“Fair of Hungarian Tastes”) which is going to take place in Budapest Millenáris between 18-20 November. Besides the well-known Hungarian tastes visitors can discover novelties such as water buffalo salami or melon jam with white truffles. Next to the Hungarian and Transylvanian farmers, exhibitors from Slovenia and Vojvodina are also expected to come.
The main goal of the organizers is to assist Hungarian farmers. Every year, we spend 550 billion forints on goods that will also be exhibited at the fair but only a portion of this money goes to Hungarian farmers. The organizers would like to incite people to buy more Hungarian products so that a bigger part of that 550 billion would stay in the Hungarian economy. On the February fair, 15000 visitors bought goods for a total of 100 billion forints.
