The doctoral candidates of the University of Debrecen and the University of Oradea participated in a joint regional development research work.
They have been examining the process in which – mainly – Oradea residents move to neighboring – partly Hungarian – settlements. Project leader, Gábor Kozma highlighted that the questionnaire-based studies revealed that the low real estate prices is the most important factor that encourages more and more people to move from Oradea to Hungary. Fifteen PhD students from both universities took part in the EU financed research work that cost 155.000 euros. Their findings might be useful in future regional development tenders, too.
