Debrecen is the first place in Hungary where Philips installed a new, modern CT simulator. The machine is at the Department of Radiotherapy in the MHSC.
Kornélia Szluha, head of the department said that the new, Brilliance Big Bore CT simulator is equipped with a device which speeds up the virtual simulation workflow and makes the therapy safer. The inlet of the machine is wide enough for patients to go in together with the straps on a table developed specifically for therapeutic reasons. Connected to the other machines in the department, the new machine reduces examination time to 10 minutes. The CT simulator cost 188 million HUF which MHSC paid from its own resources.
