According to MTI information, Auchan Magyarorszag would buy the company operating the Cora hypermarkets.
As the announcement says, the Auchan Group has come to the understanding with the Belgian Louis Delhaize Group to buy the seven Cora hypermarkets of Hungary, though the agreement has to be validated by the Hungarian Comptetition Authority.
If the authority finds everything all right, the deal is operating from the first quarter of this year. The 2700 workers of seven Cora hypermarkets in the country will further be employed by the new owner.
Besides Cora, the chain of Match and Profi stores also belong to the Delhaize Group.
Last spring, there were plans to build an Auchan hypermarket in Debrecen, but the investment failed due to some special taxes.
