The Cultural Center has received the title of Minősített Közművelődési Intézmény (“Qualified Cultural Institution”). Out of the more than 3000 cultural institutions, only 17 have got the award. The title can be given only to those institutions that demonstrate continuous development. Béla Somogyi deputy major believes the title honours the city itself as well because, as he said, this nationwide recognition confirms the work and the decision made by those responsible for the development of the city. Last year, the cultural center organized more than 500 programmes which were attended by 57.000 visitors.
