The new ticketing devices will cost 25 million forints but according to the CEO of the company, the money will recoup quickly. Besides validating the ticket, the new machine prints the distinguishing number of the vehicle, the date and the time on the ticket. The driver controls the operation of the system with a central unit – this helps catch stowaways whose favourite trick is that they stand close to the punchers and they validate the tickets only if they notice the inspectors. But in the new system, tickets cannot be validated after the driver closes the machines. All of the old punchers will have been replaced by the end of February.
