For the 8th time, the British singer-songwriter, Sting is going to perform in the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on 26 June, 2012.
Sting (originally named Gordon Sumner) was the lead singer of the band Police between 1977 and 1983. He’s been doing a solo career since 1984. He has written numerous hits, sold 100 million records and received countless awards, 10 Grammy Awards, 1 Golden Globe Award, 1 Emmy and 3 Oscar nominations included.
The 60 year old singer is going to perform in Budapest for the eighth time this June. He gave his first concert in 1988 in Népstadion. That time he performed together with Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen and Tracy Chapman. In 2004, he sang for an audience of 250.000 people in the capital at a free concert.
