There is a flu epidemic in Debrecen and in the county, too. The number of cases has doubled in a week and will keep on increasing in the next few days, as experts say.
During week 8, the rate of flu-like diseases was 0.22 percent in Debrecen while during week 9, 0.42 percent. Zsuzsa Kohut, leader of the public healthcare administration department declared that there is a flu epidemic in Debrecen and in the whole county, since the disease rate has exceeded the limit. Both flu type A and B have been shown, in approximately 10 cases during the last two weeks. The number of cases is expected to rise in the next few days but experts say it is not worth asking for vaccination now that the epidemic has already begun.
