Andrew V. Schally Nobel-prize winner scientist, professor at the University of Miami is going to give a talk in the main building of the University of Debrecen, on 27 March, at 11 am.
The topic of the talk is the outstanding results the doctor has achieved in the fields of hypothalamic hormones, neuroendocrinology, endocrine-oncology and modern, targeted tumor therapy. Professor Schally received a Nobel-prize in medicine in 1977 for discovering, isolating and proving the biological effects of hypothalamic hormones. His work done so far is documented by more than 2300 scientific publications, books and chapters.
Professor Schally has been carrying out a scientific cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen since 2004. Several people working or studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy have done research work or spent some time on scholarship at the University of Miami. Andrew V. Schally, who is an honorary doctor at nearly 30 universities around the world, is going to be awarded the title of honorary doctor at the University of Debrecen, too.
