Yesterday (17 April) saw the opening event of the series of programs called “Soldiers, Heroes- Tradition and Reformation”. Shots were fired, speeches were made on Kossuth Square and in the Great Church in the memory of the Spring Campaign of the 1848-49 Hungarian Freedom Fight.Kossuth’s statue was wreathed by Major General Gábor Böröndi (commander of 5th Bocskai Brigade), Minister of National Defence Csaba Hende and Gusztáv Bölcskei, Bishop of the Hungarian Calvinist Church.
