Concerts, theatre nights, wine festivals, folk dance and folk music events and many other programmes are taking place at the Debrecen Summer series of events. Besides the traditional cultural events, the city will offer new programmes in new locations from this Friday on until the end of summer.
In addition to the well-known programmes recurring year by year, novelties are being organized at new venues. In recent years, many new places, buildings have been built in Debrecen and now even these can be filled with life and culture during this summer. This year, numerous programmes are being organized for children and young people. Most of the events will be held in Kossuth Square.
Every night until 10 pm., street musicians will play in Hal Köz which has become one of the most popular community places since its renovation. The galleries on the square will welcome those interested in fine arts. The city will bustle all night on 16 June, on The Night of Museums. Rock and popular music concerts, theatrical performances, dance shows, choir competitions, exhibitions, a wine festival, the flower festival and many other programmes are on the list of events that Debrecen Summer can offer in 2012.
