The cycle path network will be further developed due to the tender of the Új Széchenyi Plan. The already existing and the new sections will constitute 80km together.
By the submitted tender Debrecen will receive a non-refundable sum of almost 500 million Ft. The interconnectced rout system will affect Füredi, Zákány, Burgundia, Klaipeda, Sumen, Wesselényi Street, the cycle path alongside Main Road 48, Panorama Street, Hatvan Street, Egyetem Blvd. and Vénkerti district. The rout system will touch the town’s tourist spots and cultural attractions.
By this investment the diffusion of cycle tourism is hoped, moreover it fits into the current ambitions of health and environmental awareness.
