Hundreds of people were fined because of smoking in the wrong place. Many foreigners do not even know which are the forbidden places.
From now on besides ÁNTSZ (National Public Health and Medical Officer Service), traffic wardens are also monitoring the forbidden places. Fines are from 2 000 to 30 000 Forints.
Among the forbidden places there are the followings: catering establishments, underpasses, playgrounds, bus stops, 5 meters zone of public institutions, and hospitals.
The other day ÁNTSZ announced an overall check-up in Debrecen. Last year 56 thousands check-ups were made that resulted in more than 12 Million Forints.
