Jubilee of the Reformed Collage of Debrecen was celebrated today.
The Collage was founded in 1538. Its library had always been acquiring the masterpieces on the latest developments in science. The institution was the birthplace of the new, democratic Hungary at the time when Debrecen became the capital of the country for the second time. The Temporary National Assembly held its meeting here on 21st December, 1944.
Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister visited Debrecen to celebrate the jubilee of the Reformed Collage together with Gusztáv Bölcskei, president of the Synod of the Reformed Church in Hungary and bishop of Debrecen.
