The police caught two bicycle thieves on 3 November.
A student caught a bicycle thief in the act on 3 November at 10.40 am and called the police. The thief tried to steal a bicycle that was parked in front of one of the student hostels when the student noticed him. The student followed the 50 year old perpetrator, who intended to ride away on the stolen bicycle. Officers of the Debrecen police went to the scene immediately after the call and managed to catch the thief. He was taken to the police station and a procedure was initiated against him on reasonable suspicion of theft.
Another bicycle thief was taken to the police station on 3 November. A woman notified the police at 0.14 am that she saw a man taking away two bicycles from Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Utca. The police found the 17 year old young man in the city center and took him to the police station. He was interrogated as a suspect and a procedure was initiated against him on reasonable suspicion of theft.
