The modernization of the sewage system started this morning in Debrecen.
The purpose of the investment is to re-cultivate the Lovász-zugi Lakes and to restore the original state of the area.
The Lovász-zugi Lakes were part of the sewage system from 1931 to 1996. The original function of the lakes was the technological and mechanical cleaning of communal and technological sewage.
During the past decades the toxic waste settled in the sludge. The purpose of the modernization is to eliminate the toxic materials from the lakes.
The project is supported by 300 million Forints by the European Union.
