An important moment comes on 26 February 2014: the test phase of the passenger traffic of the new tramline starts.
According to Lajos Kósa, mayor of Debrecen the project is totally finished; from the 18 CAF tramcars 14 are already in Debrecen and the rest will come within two weeks.
The tramcars and their parts cost 37,5 million Forints and the track cost 9,5 billion Forints. The European Union financed 90,75% of the total sums.
