Sophocles’ Antigone was performed at the Debrecen Csokonai Theatre yesterday evening.
The original play was written in or before 441 BC. It expands on the Theban legend that predated it and picks up where Aeschylus’ Seven Against Thebes ends.
The protagonist Antigone is played by Kinga Újhelyi and the director is the Romanian Anca Bradu.
