The Debrecen Zoo announced the birth of black-and-white Colobus monkey on 21 September 2015.
This is the first baby for the mother Bwindi and the father Zeppelin. The infant, whose gender is not yet known, is covered in white fur.
The black-and-white colobus is native in west central and east Africa. The mantled guereza lives in social groups of three to fifteen individuals. These groups normally include a dominant male, several females, and the offspring of the females. Although previously thought only to eat leaves, it also eats seeds, fruits, and arthropods.
