False alarm: there was no robbery

A man was taken into custody for making a false statement.

A man called the police on 10 August 2016 and said that there was a robbery in his house in Újléta. The police went to the crime scene where the owner said that nothing unusual happened, nobody robbed the house. After the false alarm the police went back to the station where they managed to identify the caller.

Officers visited the 41-year-old man who admitted that he was on the phone earlier. The man was taken to the Vámospércs police station where a procedure was initiated against him on reasonable suspicion of making a false statement.
