American Corner Debrecen is celebrating its 10th birthday in September 2016. Honoring this amazing anniversary they would like to hear and see your engaging stories, adventures which happened during American Corner visits in the past ten years. Probably you all have something special to share and this is the best moment to show off your hidden memories and build even stronger bridges and relations with Your AC Debrecen community.
Topic: My Unique Adventure and/or Personal Story with American Corner Debrecen
You can send in a creative video message (no longer than 60 seconds!), or a short 300 -350 words essay, or a comic strip of 4 panels describing Your Adventure or personal story with American Corner Debrecen.

Here is the time to SHARE your STORY! American Corner Debrecen is opening the contest for entries in three categories.
Only one entry can be submitted per applicant. So please do consider which category fits your personality best.
1. Category – creative, engaging video message
video must be at least 30 seconds in length and may not exceed 60 seconds in length
video must be in a format acceptable for YouTube
amateur videos are welcomed. Applicants can use any type of video device to record videos.
The video must be appropriate for all ages and audiences.
Please ensure that your video is in accordance with the Google Terms of Service, Google Privacy Policy, Facebook Terms of Service, and You Tube Terms of Service.
2. Category – essay of 300 – 350 words
be typed, double-spaced, font shall be no smaller than 12 points Times New Roman or Arial describing Your Adventure with American Corner Debrecen
3. Category – a comic strip of 4 panels
in the form of manuscripts or computer printouts which entries can contain words and captions in English for illustration.
Manuscripts must be drawn on white A/4 drawing paper. There are no limitations on drawing tools.
All entries must be the entrants’ original works, which have never been published.
All entries must not contain any contents that are obscene, indecent, provocative, slandering or promoting individual, commercial, religious or political interests, lest the entries may be disqualified.
All entrants are required to ensure that their works would not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other persons.
The organizer reserves the right to amend the rules and other arrangements for the contest without prior notification to the entrants.
Any personal information submitted by the entrants to the organizer will only be used for purposes related to the conduct of the contest.
Eligibility: All American Corner Debrecen friends, members, guest speakers and FANS can send an entry of their choice.
A panel will evaluate all eligible submissions and pick the ten best entries in each category.
The ten best entries in each category will be announced on our Facebook site as well, and their masterpieces will be uploaded on American Corner’s Facebook site, YouTube Channel and website and shared in the AC Newsletter.
American Corner Debrecen will award the best 3 entries in each category with prizes. The applicants will be informed about the time and place of the award ceremony at a later time.
Timing:
You can submit your entries until September 13, 2016, 11:59 PM at debrecenac@gmail.com and/or at AC Debrecen (Méliusz Juhász Péter Könyvtár, 4026 Debrecen, Bem tér 19/D) in person until September 13, 6 PM.
In the email please include entry title, your full name, age, phone number and in the subject line please write “10 years with American Corner Debrecen –and your category (creative video message/essay/comic strip)”.
The ten best entries in each category will be notified by the email address provided in the email.
