Slovakian Consul General, Igor Furdik has been leading the Slovakian Consulate in Békéscsaba, Hungary since March, 2016. He visited Debrecen on the 14th of December.Igor Furdik met László Papp, the mayor of Debrecen on Wednesday 14th of December to introduce himself. The two politicians had a discussion about a possible future cooperation between the city of Debrecen and Kosice, Slovakia.
László Papp also met the Czech ambassador, Jurij Chimel. They both welcomed the fact that Debrecen and Brno signed a contract of sister cities. The mayor of Debrecen made a proposal of the two cities supporting each other in the future. For instance, in the case of Debrecen’s application for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2023.
