A new hospice department has been opened in Kenézy Gyula Hospital, Debrecen.Patients, who are in the final stage of cancer diseases, are treated at the new department of the hospital that was opened in February, 2017. Main goal of the department is to ensure that these patients can pass away with dignity when the time comes.
There are 20 beds for patients at the hospice department currently, but the hospital is planning to increase this number. At the moment there are six people at the department nursed by employees of the hospital. This type of medical care at the hospital’s hospice department is financed by National Health Insurance Fund (OEP).
