An 18-year-old woman died of methyl alcohol poisoning at the Debrecen Clinics on Wednesday.
21 people were taken to hospital from Szerep on 19 December. Their symptoms were similar to the symptoms of poisoning: dizziness, nausea, vomiting and visual disturbance. The problems were caused by consuming methanol.
Two people, who were in critical conditions, died in the last few days. A woman in her fifties died on 31 December 2017 and another woman, 18-year-old, mother of three children, died on 3 January 2018.
The 47-year-old man, who sold the drinks was arrested by the police. The National Tax and Customs Administration confiscated more than 200 litres of the toxic alcoholic drink. The drink that contains methyl alcohol was sold in the bottles of popular spirits.
The investigation of the incident is still in progress.
