A world-class research environment was developed from nearly 1 billion Forints at the Institute of Nuclear Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The project created the possibility to install a world-class research base, based on the Tandetron laboratory particle accelerator – says Zsolt Dombrádi.
The 2 MV Tandetron (High Voltage Engineering Europa, HVEE) was inaugurated in 2015.
With this new development, the Tandetron particle accelerator can be used side by side for fundamental researches and for applied researches.
In recent years, the Institute of Nuclear Research has received 4.5 billion Forints from tenders, from which nearly 3 billion was used to purchase new equipment.
By participating in international projects, the Institute of Nuclear Research is now internationally acknowledged – says Lajos Barcsa, vice-mayor of Debrecen.
