Super Microscope at the University of Debrecen

Local News University

Researchers at the University of Debrecen were able to test one of the most advanced microscopes in the world on October 15 at the Institute of Anatomy.

With this high-resolution and fast imaging equipment, scientists can also observe processes in the living organism.

The super-resolution confocal microscope, presented at the university, is a high-speed, high-sensitivity imaging system that has been designed and developed for cell biology, cancer research and stem cell research. The microscope uses the technology for which the German physicist Stefan Hell was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2014. This is the so-called STED microscopy, which was presented to researchers at the University of Debrecen on October 15th.
