Nowadays it comes as no surprise to see snowdrops, the first heralds of spring, bloom as early as the ides of meteorological winter. As these shapely white blooms appear, those who crave the warmth of sunlight are finally relieved since nature is soon to reawaken from its slumber. An increasingly vulnerable flowering plant with a particularly attractive and delicate habit, the common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) has been a protected species in Hungary since 2005, meaning it is illegal to collect in the wild. Instead of picking them, let us just admire or take photos of these snowy beauties.
Come visit our zoo any day of the week between 9:00 and 16:00 to witness the arrival of spring.
