Vice Mayor Ákos Balázs and Viktor Papp, leader of the Fidesz-KDNP faction of the General Assembly of Debrecen presented the details of the new Urban Management Concept of Debrecen at a press conference held on 24 June 2020.
In order to secure and strengthen its leading regional position, the City of Debrecen has prepared a complex economic and urban development program with plans until 2030. An Urban Management Concept ensuring the sustainable management of the city should play a key role in the realisation and the subsequent maintenance of the program. The aim of the Urban Management Concept is to achieve that the operation of the city should become self-sustainable, and with its behaviour as a „good master”, it should set an example and contribute to the improvement of the quality of life, a clean and tidy environment, and an investor-friendly business climate. The Urban Management Concept is a set of guidelines according to which short- and long-term plans, strategies and other decisions can be prepared and implemented. This way, it affects the everyday life of local citizens and the activities of economic stakeholders.
