Traffic will be made faster and devoid of traffic jams in the bottleneck intersection of Leiningen Street and Mikepércsi Road, thanks to the development for capacity expansion to be implemented there.
The investment was presented at a press conference held by László Papp, Mayor of Debrecen, Zoltán Nyul, Deputy CEO for Investment at NIF Zrt., and by László Pósán, Member of Parliament, on 2 September 2020. The event was also attended by Szabolcs Komolay and Balázs Vadon, municipal councillors, whose representative districts will gain much with this investment as far as their transport situation is concerned.
The aim of the development is to eliminate the bottleneck intersection of Leiningen Street and Mikepércsi Road, and form one with extra capacities. For now, there is only one traffic lane for cars to turn left and right or drive straight on to Mikepércsi Road from Leiningen Street. With the development completed, a right-turn lane will be constructed in a length of 100 metres, where drivers will be able to turn right in a small curve from a separate lane towards the direction of the city centre.
