New Consulting Room Constructed in Place of the Old One in Szabó Pál Street

Local News

A new consulting room has been constructed in Szabó Pál Street, where a general practitioner’s, a paediatrician’s and a health visitor’s district operates. There was a facility serving the same purpose on the site earlier as well, but the light-structure building was outdated and in a very bad condition. Its renovation was not economical, so it was demolished, and a new one was constructed in its place.

Viktor Papp, Municipal Councillor said at the press event held at the site on 1 October: „one of the most urgent investments of the district has been implemented with the development of the consulting room in Szabó Pál Street”. The new building complex with a base of 298 square metres was constructed to be accessible. There is a paediatrician’s consulting room in the facility, as well as one for a general practitioner, with the necessary waiting rooms. Furthermore, there is a health visitor’s room to serve the local district. To achieve energy efficiency, doors and windows with adequate insulation capacity have also been installed. The complete technical, electric and mechanical system of the interior has also been renewed. The city won 115 million HUF financial support from the EU for the construction of the new medical facility, and the Municipality of Debrecen provided 64 million HUF from its own resources. The financial grant also covered the replacement of the basic healthcare tools, and the equipment necessary for cervical screening by health visitors was also purchased. The general practitioner treats almost 2,200 adults, the paediatrician serves approximately 1,300 children, and the health visitor provides service for 250 children.
