With the upcoming holiday in mind, every day up until the first day of Christmas we will be introducing one of our residents awaiting your support, among whom you are sure to find your favorite.
Even if you have not yet visited us, you might remember Chili from your forest walks in the area as he likes to say hi to everyone passing by the fence. He is also at the very forefront of public relations at our events, perching on visitors’ hands or shoulders for a photo. No wonder Chili is used to being handled; he hatched in May 2018 as a true child of our zoo.
Like other macaws, he is excellent at mimicking sounds, most often using expressions he has picked up from staff, but he is also more than willing to help Rexi, our watchdog, with a few barks he has learned from him. His favorite treats include walnuts and boiled corn, but even a pebble from the ground will make him happy – and also help maintain his beak.
Just like Chili, a lot of our residents are yet to be adopted. If you want to make them really happy while also offering us tremendous help, please consider becoming a zoo foster parent.
