The air quality in Debrecen is not improving

Local News

Air quality in the Northeast continued to deteriorate due to high concentrations of particulate matter.

According to the map of the National Public Health Center, not only the air of Putnok, but also the air of Sajószentpéter was classified as dangerous on Thursday. Air quality is unhealthy in Kazincbarcika and Miskolc.

In addition, the air of Eger, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza and Hernádszurdok was considered objectionable.

No significant change is expected in the affected settlements.

The air hygiene index system has four categories: acceptable, objectionable, unhealthy and dangerous.

NNK has previously pointed out that air pollution causes short-term respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, respiratory irritation, dyspnea) in the short term, but also increases the risk of cardiovascular disease in the long term.
