The Chinese Voluntary Service and the Chinese Student Union of Debrecen, with the help of the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen, donated 1000 masks to the Debrecen Charitable Board.
The Debrecen Chinese Student Union is very happy to help with these masks so that the Debrecen Charitable Body can deliver them to those who may not be able to access this protective equipment on their own, said student Jiang Hai, representing the student union. As he added, thanks are also due to the other organizations that made this donation possible.
Dr. Pál Csontos, the Hungarian director of the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen, who participated in the action, indicated that the donation of thousands of masks, of which these 1,000 masks are a part, was provided by a Chinese organization registered in Hungary. The Hungarian director was pleased to be able to help get the donation to the right places. Interestingly, he noted that today is the last day of the Chinese Spring Festival, also known as the Lantern Festival when gifts are given to families and those in need in China.
Éva Rózsahegyiné Éva Juhász, the president of the Debrecen Charitable Body, drew attention to the fact that the epidemic is not easing, so in this situation, the importance of the 1000 masks received as an offer today is very high. The President thanked the Chinese Voluntary Service, the Chinese Student Union of Debrecen and the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen not only orally but also with a letter of commendation for participating in the delivery of the grant.
