From April to October, the Hungarian Cycling Club will promote everyday cycling with a nationwide online campaign, the club told MTI.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, it has been decided to raise awareness of cycling in a different way than usual this year as well, with the motto of this year’s event: “Bike instead!”.
They added that in addition to the national activity, they focus on different cities every month, where the campaign is organized taking into account local characteristics, which starts in Budapest in April. In the coming months, it will continue in another city, so Debrecen, Győr, Kecskemét, Miskolc, Szeged and Székesfehérvár will take place, but not necessarily in that order.
With the support of Active Hungary, the Hungarian Cycling Club tries to reach out to those for whom cycling has meant only hobbies, sports or weekend recreation, and partly to help companies and businesses open to cycling work, municipalities that consider cycling important, to help them become truly cyclist become.

The construction of a bicycle path is being prepared in Debrecen, the traffic order is changing
On April 13, the construction works of the main road No. 33, Domokos Márton út and Kishatár utca traffic light junction started – the local government announced. During the interventions, pedestrian-cycling islands will be formed, which is in preparation for the construction of the cycle path to Kismacs.
The contractor has 60 days to complete the construction work.
