Local News

A middle-aged man got sick while playing sports, and ambulances were alerted to get to him in Debrecen, the National Ambulance Service reported. The call was answered by rescue manager László Répási (pictured), who immediately knew that there was a big problem and started providing telephone assistance according to the protocol.

Following the calm and professional instructions, the man’s acquaintance and one of the employees of the sports complex began the resuscitation, and even the semi-automatic defibrillator on site was used successfully. After the first shock, the heart function and blood circulation resumed, and the man regained consciousness.

Our ambulance units, which meanwhile arrived on the scene, took over and continued to stabilize the condition of the man, who was eventually transported to the hospital with good parameters.

This case also draws attention to the importance of starting resuscitation immediately and deploying defibrillator devices in busy places, including sports facilities.
