The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against the man who caused the death of a cyclist due to his negligence in the careless cause of a fatal road accident.
The accused drove alone in Debrecen on February 18, 2021, at 12 noon, in the cloudy weather corresponding to the season, in the daytime, natural light conditions, in a car owned by his employer.
Before a road junction, the man watched the map in the center seat of the vehicle, so he noticed late the victim cycling in front of him, in the same direction on the right side of the road, so he collided with the front right side of the truck without braking. As a result of the collision, the victim fell from the bike to the asphalt and suffered such severe injuries that he lost his life at the scene.
The case was investigated by the Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters.
The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the accused for the negligent cause of a fatal road accident in the Debrecen District Court. In the indictment for the prosecution, the district prosecutor’s office proposed that the district court, without holding a trial, sentenced the accused to a suspended prison sentence based on the content of the documents and prohibit him from driving road vehicles for a specified period of time.
