Home fires are becoming more frequent in Debrecen The Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate drew the attention of our editorial office.
The most common causes of a fire that could be prevented with a little care or regular maintenance are:
- use of open flame
- electrical networks
- heating appliances
- smoking
- baking, cooking
- chimney fires
The BM National Directorate General for Disaster Management has posted a video on its Facebook page showing how we can make the work of firefighters easier if a fire breaks out in a condominium.
In the video we can see how firefighters are marching to an apartment on Derék Street, which is burning in its entirety:
Firefighters not only fight fire but also time.
After a quick and accurate announcement, we can help firefighters work to win the fight until the end of the intervention.
– said Lieutenant Firefighter Nóra Papp-Kunkli in the video.
What can we do to help firefighters:
- Give priority to vehicles traveling with a distinctive sign.
- Residents of condominiums should only park in designated areas! Several vehicles are moving to a multi-storey building. Transport should be considered so that they can stop close to the building.
- Residents must leave the building where the fire happened. As you escape, give way to the units in the stairway that are going up.
- In addition to firefighting, they must also inspect the building. Their work will be facilitated if escaped residents do not lock their apartment doors.
The goal is common: to put out the apartment fire and to keep everyone safe.
