The City of Debrecen Aid Fund also provided support to a family with four children where the father died of coronavirus infection. On behalf of the Debrecen Charitable Body, Deputy Mayor Diána Széles, co-chair of the Debrecen Charitable Body and Éva Rózsahegyiné Éva Juhász, chair of the Debrecen Charitable Body, provided further assistance to the family, which has been regularly supported by the body since then.
On behalf of the family, Gabriella Angel thanked the municipality for the help so far, which meant a lot to them in their difficult situation.
Diána Széles said on the spot: when László Papp, the mayor of the city, launched the City of Debrecen Aid Fund, the primary goal was to mitigate the negative economic effects on the city’s residents due to the restrictive measures of the coronavirus epidemic – with some personal income tax-free subsidies. In parallel with the change in the epidemic situation and its current effects, the support system of the aid fund, which is unique in the country, has also changed: for example, certain groups of workers suffering from loss of income

If an applicant may not meet the conditions of the call for proposals but is considered to be in need, the Debrecen Charitable Body will try to provide assistance from other sources. Diánes Széles thanked all the donors so far for supporting the City of Debrecen Relief Fund and emphasized that there was still an opportunity to increase the fund to help those in need.
Éva Rózsahegyiné Éva Juhász, the chairman of the Debrecen Charitable Body, said that applications for the new grant could only be sent by e-mail or post to the address of the Archdiocese of Hajdúdorog.
