A small plane worth HUF 150 million recently landed on the runway of Debrecen International Airport without landing gear, sliding on its “stomach”, writes 24.hu. The failed landing maneuver caused significant damage to the bottom of the Italian-made twin-engine Tecnam.
It is known that the former chairman of the traffic authority and the pilot of the ITM examiner were traveling on the plane.
According to the rules, such cases must be officially classified as an accident, even if none of the passengers on the aircraft have been seriously injured.
No news was leaked about the accident on December 4, despite the fact that the traffic police department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters had already initiated a procedure on suspicion of endangering aviation, and the aviation authority under the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) had also begun an investigation.
