The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office has indicted a man who hit a child on a sidewalk with a lorry for the negligent cause of a road accident.
On September 3, 2020, at 7 a.m., the defendant wanted to take a lorry to the road from a property in Hajdúszoboszló. He opened the electric gate of the property remotely from a distance of about 30 meters and then kept moving in the direction of the roadway. Despite the fact that the fence of the property is completely closed, obstructing the view, the man did not stop at the gate entrance but rolled out at low speed and did not give priority to the victim on the sidewalk riding his bike, so he collided with the vehicle.
As a result of the accident, the 6-year-old child fell and suffered a leg injury that healed in more than eight days.
The investigation was carried out by the Hajdúszoboszló Police Headquarters.
The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the accused for admitting the crime of negligent cause of a road accident at the Hajdúszoboszló District Court. In the indictment for the execution of the sentence, the district prosecutor’s office filed a motion for the district court to impose a fine on the accused based on the content of the documents without holding a trial.
