On the first weekend of February, we are organizing the Teddy Bear Festival for the second time, which is connected to the Day of the Blessed Sacrament and Bear Day. According to folk belief, if the bear comes out of its cave on this day and sees its shadow then hide back and sleep on, so the winter is far from over. However, if the weather is overcast and it doesn’t see its shadow, it stays outside in anticipation of the upcoming spring.
At the event, they got to know not only this timeless belief in practice with the participation of Dönci, the red bear, but also the whole family of bears, and even our inhabitants, who are only names of the real bears; such as the bear bears or just the red cat bears that the really lucky ones will be able to meet up close. Of course, in addition to Dönci, those with a sweet tooth will have a honey tasting and fair, as well as a rich offer of gingerbread. With free-themed face painting, young and old can become a bear themselves, and everyone will be able to make their favorite teddy bear in the craft hut of the Children’s Town Association.
