Archaeologist László D. Szabó awaits those interested at the February meeting of the lecture series entitled The Archaeological Heritage of Cívisváros, where the topic entitled Village Churches on the Border of Debrecen will be presented. The meeting will begin on Friday, February 25, at 5 pm in the Ceremonial Hall of the Déri Museum, the institution’s press officer informed us.
The topic of the first lecture in the series of lectures presenting the new research of the last decades is the churches, the most significant buildings of the villages that ever existed on the border of Debreccen.
The archaeologist presents the process of building the church, with the help of contemporary written sources we review the former churches. Archaeologically excavated churches are being revived using digital technology. A church with a special floor plan, which is very rare in the Carpathian Basin, is presented in four copies.
Admission is free, but the presentation requires a security card and a mask.
