The Debrecen Tribunal found the man who regularly harassed, blackmailed the victim for his unrequited feelings, abducted the woman, and abducted her husband in a forest. He was therefore sentenced by the tribunal to seven years in prison and banned from public affairs for seven years. The verdict is not final, a court spokesman told MTI on Tuesday.

According to the announcement of Dénes Dobó, the relationship between the victims deteriorated at the end of 2015, so they separated. The woman moved into the house of one of her acquaintances in Zsáka, and then met the accused, who also lived in the same village.

The man wanted to have a closer relationship with the woman, who refused. Because of the refusal, the accused wanted to punish the victim in 2018: when they met on the street, the man stopped the woman and urged her to hand over one million forints because she owed him so much. The defendant pulled out a gas-alarm gun, as a result of which the intimidated woman acknowledged in writing that she owed the defendant her debt.

The woman and her husband, meanwhile, reconciled and relocated, of which the accused became aware. One day, he took her husband by car to a dirt road in a wooded area near Berettyó, where he was forced to call his wife on the phone with a gas alarm gun and write another statement about his debt in his presence.

The man did so in fear, after the accused handcuffed the victim to a tree in the woods, tied his hands and feet with a wire, and stuffed his mouth with his clothes. After that, the accused went for the woman he had knocked out of his apartment and then forced her into the car with a gun. After a short time, the bound man managed to free himself, and when he saw the accused coming with the woman, he attacked the man and mutually abused each other.

The woman then took the bag containing the accused’s weapons, took a shotgun from it, and after removing the ammunition, used it to curb the accused so they could escape the scene. After a short time, the accused continued to harass the victims by phone, sending several text messages to their cell phones on a daily basis.

The verdict was not final, with the prosecution holding three working days to file a statement of appeal, while the defendant and his defense counsel appealed the decision. Until the case was finally adjudicated, the court maintained criminal supervision of the accused, the spokesman wrote.
