The Dorkász campsite in Debrecen will be operated as a reception center in the coming months, the foundation operating the facility told MTI on Tuesday.
According to their announcement, the board of trustees of the Dorkász Service Foundation will offer its campsite in Debrecen-Erdőspuszta, in the vicinity of Lake Vekeri, to refugee families from Transcarpathia, Ukraine, and thus operate it as a reception center for a longer period of time.
The aim of the project is to help the refugees with accommodation, meals, and children’s programs for the next 6-12 months – they added that they would support the refugees either to move on or to find and find their calculations in Hungary.
The announcement states that after a few weeks of renovation, the campsite will be opened to refugees. At the same time, the Dorkász is asking people to help support the cost of running with their offerings.
In addition, volunteers are welcome to apply, who can help with either the preparatory work or the operation, especially with regard to the organization of children’s programs, Dorkász concludes.
