Last Saturday, Egy Morzsányi Szeretet Association invited again all those from Debrecen who did not have a place on the sunny side of life.
Due to the reconstruction of Petőfi square, they organized the charity event at a new location, in Bocskai square. Organizers tried their best to inform those concerned about this, but they were a little afraid of how many guests they would have. The chain of command could have worked well because those waiting for food had gathered an hour before the start. By the end of the event, organizers had distributed about 175 dishes.
There were different kinds of food on the menu, which was closed by apples, as a little spring vitamin which is good for everyone.
It is probably also due to the impact of the coronavirus epidemic that the guest base of the charity event has completely changed. It seems that the events of recent months have shattered the existence of many people. Never before have so many retirees stood in line for food, and their numbers are growing. Raising their pensions has been good for them – even little money is money – but high inflation will make their lives even harder. It hasn’t been easy before, but these days it’s getting harder and harder to make ends meet from their tiny retirement. The team from Morzsaparti in Debrecen will next time invite the hard-working people living in Debrecen to Bocskai square. It will be a week after Easter, so they also organize an egg finder for little children.
