Respect and gratitude for the enthusiastic volunteers who have been participating in the tasks of the Hungarian Red Cross Hajdú-Bihar County Organization to help those in need in Ukraine since March 11. Both day and night, they are effective in helping people waiting to register at the Sports Hall in Biharkereszt. According to the feedback, they are also filled with help, they feel good, so the organization invites new applicants to join them, as this cross-border service is continuous. They need more help.
The volunteers accept and carry out social and psychological assistance with heart and soul in the organization of the Hajdú-Bihar County and Berettyóújfalu Regional Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross. Respect and gratitude to them. Together they are helped by a student, a young person, an adult, a pensioner, a volunteer living locally or in the area and traveling here from Debrecen or outside the county. According to the feedback, they are also filled with help, they feel good. Half a hundred people have taken part and are taking part in the service, as there are those who take on the duties on a regular basis.
The service has been provided at this location since March 10 – due to the increase in the number of refugees arriving from Romania – by the county and regional organization of the Hungarian Red Cross in consultation and cooperation with the defense bodies and other non-governmental organizations. Red Cross volunteers and staff help Ukrainian refugee children, families, and individuals from across the border waiting for registration in 2 shifts with psychological assistance, food distribution, donations, and hot drinks.

This cross-border service is ongoing, so the organization is still waiting for volunteers to apply.

Those who live in the county center or in other parts of the county can also apply for this job at hajdubiharmegye@voroskereszt.hu and at 52 / 531-427. The organizers ask the applicants to write down their strengths, what they know and love, what language they have if they have the time.
Debrecen is also looking for English-speaking activists because there are new Red Cross tasks in the city to help the people of Ukraine.

The Red Cross also helps in Püspökladány
Volunteers and staff also assist refugee groups arriving in Püspökladány at the local station. Whether day or night, team members go to the signs and, like the Bihar cross-country assignments, provide hot tea, mineral water, food, hygiene products – all that experience has shown – to waiters and provide spiritual assistance.
The Hajdú-Bihar County Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross has been participating in the assistance of the refugees of the war in Ukraine with its staff and volunteers since the first day. His staff was also present or on standby at the Northern Border Service. The volunteers and staff of Hajdú-Bihar County played a major role in the opening of the Warehouse of the Bridge for Transcarpathia in Aranyosapáti from March 3.
