The government donated the building of the old museum in Balmazújváros to the Catholic Church

Local News

The state donated the building of the old museum in Balmazújváros to the Catholic Church without compensation, writes Mayor Péter Hegedüs on his Facebook page. The mayor also reported that during the unpacking of the municipal tools and equipment, Imréné Béke, the Fidesz municipal representative, asked for the packing.

The liquidator in Budapest has already said that if something is missing from the inventory of Balmaz Kamilla Kft., he will file a criminal complaint.

Péter Hegedüs drew the following conclusions from this:

  • the alarm chain works all the way to Budapest,
  • some Members cannot accept that the current leadership is acting lawfully and lawfully,

for some MPs, the interest of the city does not matter.

The mayor of Balmazújváros said that the material according to the inventory will be prepared and, to his knowledge, will be handed over to the winner of the liquidation on April 21.

The mayor said he was not operating properly under his predecessor

The mayor of Balmazújváros told our portal that the café operated as part of Balmaz Kamilla Kft. Before 2018 and accumulated the loss, then after the interim elections in 2018 (when Péter Hegedüs became mayor), it turned out that it had not worked properly before.

The city administration, as an operator, asked the state as an owner to use the property. At that time, István Tiba, a member of parliament from the region, appeared, who, claiming that he had donated a lot of things to the Museum’s café, dug up dozens of thuja in the yard and demolished the oven. The government did not respond to the mayor’s letters, and a few days before the election came:

Everyone learned from the Hungarian Gazette that the state donated the building to the Catholic Church free of charge.

The city was not notified of the decision in advance, and the board even decided earlier to proceed with obtaining the permit – we learned from Péter Hegedüs.

According to the document, the Museum Café will then support Catholic religious duties and provide a venue for church gatherings.
