Lighting the first Advent candle is traditionally the responsibility of the mayor in Debrecen, but he is happy to leave the rest to his colleagues. This year, Lajos Barcsa was second in line.
Tonight, the second candle flame of the Advent wreath lit up, which symbolizes hope.
I think we are going through a difficult period in which hope and hope played a particularly important role for all of us. I hope that everyone will have the opportunity to truly experience this wonderful holiday.
