On December 23, the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate handed over protective equipment and equipment for technical rescue and firefighting in Debrecen.
Municipal and volunteer fire departments, as well as rescue organizations, applied for the tender of the Ministry of the Interior’s National Directorate General of Disaster Prevention this year. In order to ensure safe damage liquidation, the protective equipment of firefighters was expanded and renewed.
The equipment to help the firefighters work was handed over by fire lieutenant colonel Tibor Balogh, chief fire inspector of the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate. The colonel thanked them for their cooperation throughout the year and their efficient work, and in his speech he emphasized that in order to eradicate the events in Hajdú-Bihar county, it is essential that non-professional organizations also help them.
There are four municipal fire departments in the county, and all of them successfully applied. 23 volunteer firefighting associations are active in the county, of which 20 have won equipment. 9 of the rescue teams received equipment that helps their work. The total value of successful tenders was nearly HUF 30 million in 2022.
